Rolling out Microsoft SharePoint
Many organisations move to Microsoft 365 after years of using an on-premise server. It is quite a change and is best managed with a structured approach; one which encourages end-user take-up and a positive impression of the platform.
One of the trickiest aspects of migrating to Microsoft 365 is figuring out how to use SharePoint. Without a strategy, organisations can end up under-utilising aspects of Microsoft 365 or confusing their end users with the many choices they have regarding file management.
As a SharePoint consultant, I assist clients in rolling out Microsoft 365 by configuring SharePoint/Teams according to their needs and by effective change management.
I approach this in three phases. Firstly, I gather your requirements. Secondly, I implement and test the platform. And thirdly, I train end-users and encourage adoption.
The following is a broad summary; please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Step 1 - Requirement gathering
- Define the use case of OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams to understand the specific needs of your organization.
- Determine the scope of the implementation, such as will SharePoint serve as an intranet, document repository, project management platform, etc.
- Define roles and permissions for end users.
Step 2 - Implementation and testing
- Configure, design and apply permissions to SharePoint sites.
- Migrate files to OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
- Conduct testing to validate permissions.
Step 3 - Training/change management
- Develop customised training materials based on your implementation.
- Deliver live training covering for all levels, from admins to end users.
- Incorporate change management strategies into training and documentation.
